Self Incrimination

So...I'm starting a little experiment of sorts.  I started doing a Jillian Michael's video every few days for the past few weeks.  She's intense and it's great workout!  The one I have is called "Extreme Shed and Shred" but I know she has others...a 30 day shred, in particular.  So I thought, ok...what if I strictly do this video every day for the next 30 days?  Will there be much of a difference in my body?  I'm anxious for there to be some sort of difference!  I mean, come on, it's getting closer to the 80s here, which is closer to summer, which is closer to swimsuit season.  You get the idea.

Anyway, I hear this whole being "in shape" thing might have something to do with what I eat, but we'll get there.  Inevitably the more you work out, the less junk you want to eat.  I haven't decided if I want to commit to her meal plan that comes with the DVD, because I'm kind of anti-dieting, but the truth is...most of the time I have no idea what to eat.  So...I might take a peek at it and decide if it's right for me.

Ok, so my plan is to do Level 1, five days a week for 2 weeks, then Level 2 for 2 weeks, and then the full hour with both workouts for the last 2 weeks.  I know...I'm going to die.  But I need some motivation right now.  Don't worry, I'll still be running when I can, especially on Saturdays, and not just because I got new shoes and am super stoked to break them in!  Mostly it's because I love running too, so that won't be going away any time soon.

Why am I posting this, you ask?  Because now I'm accountable.  Also...I took "Before" pictures and thought of posting them...until I saw them.  Now, nobody but me (and my poor mother, who had to take them) will get to see them.  If the results are awesome, I may get crazy and post them...but you'll really have to prove that you're good friends...bc they aren't pretty.

Ou this is exciting Sis! Sad I learn about your life through your blog...does that make me a bad brother? haha

Anywho, that should be fun and I want to do something similar (not Jillian Michaels workout, but lift and eat right, and take before and after pictures) when I get home.

Also, look up the Paleo diet. I wouldn't do it to the t, but it's a good platform and after my anthropology class I am a true believer in it.

Good Luck Sis! Love ya!

just remember one thing. when you start working out harder DO NOT start eating more. your body will tell you to start eating more when you start burning more calories, DO NOT listen, it a trick! then, there is no way around it, you will start to lose. that is all i have to say about that because i'm sucky at diets too.

I'm stalking you right now. . . but I had to comment and say that I have been doing Jillian's workouts for five months now, and it's been amazing for me. I lost about 4 inches doing the 30 day shred, 5 days a week, for 30 days. I am relatively healthy anyway, so that was a BIG deal for me! Good luck. I love level 3 the most! She's annoying, but does get results.

Sorry if that was super weird to comment! I am (was) Kelsey (Jensen) Hansen, from Raymond. Peggy and I were close friends and your brother was in my grade before you moved to Vegas. And I love to run, so I stalk your blog sometimes. Am I going to be the creep that makes you go private? LOL.

First of all - Mitch...we're both sucky bc we only find things out about each other via the interweb :) I haven't checked out that diet thing yet, but I will.

Lindsay - that is the hardest part! When I was running big time, I was always so hungry! I signed up for Jillian's free meal plan for 30 days that came with the dvd, and I have to say...I was unaware of how sucky of an eater I am! I was eating wayyyy more calories a day than I should have! I totally thought I was doing pretty well too. Sad mistake. It's kind of been fun tracking what I eat and eating healthier things. I really don't see it as a "diet" either...it's more of a habit change. I get really excited bc I get to eat such yummy things too!

Kelsey - of course I know who you are! I'm so glad you're stalking me, too! I'm glad you said you lost major inches, because I feel like I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm pretty healthy anyway, I just wanted to lose a few pounds and really tone up. So far I'm noticing the inches and not so much the weight. I can't believe you lost 4 inches! That's awesome. Fingers crossed I have similar results. It's been fun and I can feel myself actually wanting to go on to Level 2! Cray-cray.

Thanks for the comments, y'all and keep stalking me!
