Things and Stuff

Now that school has started for those who are still in school, things are starting to settle down here a bit. Missy officially had her birthday last Friday, and I don't know why, but we've really gotten into making cakes for each other this year and it's been a lot of fun. Megan made Missy's cake and it was sooo cute! I was quite proud of Megan for making it all by herself because she's not much of a homemaker, but she did a fantastic job! You can't really see his back, but the spikes are made up of Hershey kisses....mmmm.

So, speaking of school starting, Patrick and Joe returned to the Mother Land to go back to school (BYU) and I feel as if there is a small void in my life now. Single tear. It's ok though because Megan and I are going up to Utah for the long weekend to hang out with them and go to Megan's cabin. We haven't been up there all summer, which is unheard of! Megan got into the Nursing program at UNLV this semester so we're super excited for her, but we probably won't have as much time to snowboard and play up at the cabin this year. Sigh. We're growing up.

We also had a barbeque last weekend for Mitchel getting his high school diploma (a little late on the celebration) and it was a lot of fun! Yay for Mitchel!! We had a bunch of family and friends come over, and I was watching my friend Carrian's little girl, Peyton. She is quite a little character. She was soo not shy playing with everyone there and even did some dances for us! She and Jonas even played together and it was so cute!

They seriously played so well together. I mean, Jonas wasn't quite used to sharing his toys yet, so he was a little confused, but nonetheless they played very nicely.

That is, until Jonas thought Peyton's cute little sandals were toys too and he tried to take them off of her feet. She didn't like that much!

And...Jonas had his first digestive cookie. The kid seriously cracks me up! Note the rivers of glistening drool down his chest, and the fact that he's not wearing a shirt (it may or may not have been ruined in a certain blow out that occured mid barbeque!).

I have really grown quite attached to Matt, Renee, and Jonas and I'm going to be really sad when they move to Canada. :( I mean, I understand they need to go back to school and what not, but I'm still sad. On the bright side, that will give me more of an excuse to come up to Canada! I guess I'm just used to having them around and I like it. Oh fine, I guess Renee's family can have them for a little while! hehe

Oh, by the way...is the blog too hard to read with the white-ish writing now?
