Ok, so this was my first Christmas alone, and I think I did pretty darn good! I strung all the lights on my tree - 1,200 to be exact. That wasn't time consuming at all! My friends and I decorated my tree, and made Gingerbread houses, and my dad put the lights up on my house. I had no idea there was some sort of contest, but I got a certificate in the mail from my Home Owners Association for "Excellence in Holiday Design." I was pretty excited because there are some really decked out houses in my neighborhood. I guess mine was just very tasteful! Thanks Dad!
These are our beautiful Gingerbread houses. Can you believe I went 24 years without ever making one of these bad boys?! Crazy. I know. Ok, so Mine is the one on the right (the prettiest by far!), Missy's is in the middle, and Megan may have gotten distracted while making hers, so it's the one on the left. Bless her special little heart!
Here is my beautiful sparkly home! Didn't my dad do a great job on the lights? I really should give him the certificate, but oh well! Hey, I put the lights on the bushes all by myself. That's got to count for something.

Seriously, the certificate was probably the highlight of your entire Christmas season. You should really put it in a frame above your bed so that you can gaze admirably at it year round. Secondly, my gingerbread house may not be a hyped up as yours and Missy's but hey I was simplifying and going back to my ghetto roots where we couldn't hang up Christmas decoration because they would be stolen!!! Yep...true story.
But for reals...the temptation of Arrested Development on the TV in the next room mixed with my ADD....I had no chance!!
