I'm Here!!!

Oh my gosh! I'm here, I made it, and I'm freezing. Why didn't anyone tell me that moving to Portland in January is a bad idea?! The house I'm living in is super old and I guess it's expensive to heat....plus it's all tile and hardwood floors and it's freezing! I don't even take off my coat, hat, mitts, scarves, etc when I come in the house! Waaaaah! Besides that though, this city is pretty cool. It reminds me of a cross between Seattle and DC. So far I haven't really seen anything besides the inside of my school, buses, and the little wandering that Mitchel and I did when we got here (some purposefully and some not). However, I'm excited to do a little touring and check everything out. I think I'm even going to try and keep my Wednesday temple schedule going here, but I have to figure out how to get around.
Anyway, so I am finally here and I must say that the trip was adventurous, but I'm really glad Mitchel was with me or I would have cried from fright. We had really great weather until Rupert and Burley, Idaho. There was a little storm there and then it was clear, but the rest of the drive was pretty foggy. As soon as we crossed the Idaho border into Oregon we hit mountain passes in the wee hours of the morning, that were completely icy, there was dense fog, and we pretty much didn't go over 35 mph for the first 150 miles. I was beat by the time we got through there because I had been driving for 12 hours. Yuck! Anyway, we made it safely, and had some fun in Portland before Mitch boarded his flight back to sunny Las Vegas even after I begged him to stay with me so I wouldn't be alone. Some brother! Just kidding! We had a fun trip and I'm really glad he came with me. Also, school has started and I am loving it! I've even made a little log blog of what my school days entail so that you all can see my wonderful work progress as I go!

so seriously it is cold and we rarely use our heat too, but remember it is fun to cuddle up with a blanket. Well if you ever get home sick we are only a few hours away. You can come up any time you want!

You are darling! I am so excited for you on this "adventure". I love that you are doing what you want and not letting things slow you down! You go girl! take advantage of this great time in your life, although the later stuff (marriage and kids) is fun, so is this time! I want you to be the best "florist" and come back and do florist things for me... :)
