Ok, so I know you're all sitting on pins and needles to see what happened next on my little trip. Well, we woke up bright and early and headed off to Delaware! Yup. Delaware. What's in Delaware, you ask? Why the annual Punkin Chunkin, of course! People build these gigantic contraptions to launch punkins into a giant empty corn field, and there are different divisions and everything. There are also carnival rides, carnival FOOD, amazing mullets, missing teeth, and tattoos. It was fantastic! Here are a few of my favorite gems from our little outing. By the way, it may have been me and 4 couples - married, engaged, dating, whatevs. The only song that came into my mind whilst everyone in my group was happily sauntering around holding hands was "One of these things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn't belong" haha! It was a lot of fun though. Joni and Derek have ridiculously fun friends, and I really didn't feel like the 9th wheel at all.

I don't know if you can actually see this, but on the way there we found a guy selling "New Deer Scent." I'm not even sure what that is.

A shot of the cannons and also a group of fine looking specimens. Good thing I had my new deer scent on.

Derek, just getting into character with his trash can/table for his crab sandwich, and his bottomless sodie pop. He's so happy.

It was a tough choice between funnel cake and carmel apples, but thanks to Whitney's halloween post, I had nothing but carmel apples on my mind. I'm positive these weren't as good as hers.
Also, we thought it was going to be cold like last year. Nay, alas. It was hot! We were wearing sweaters and realized it was a horrible error! I think I mentioned that they hold this event in a giant corn field and they launch the punkins like 4,000 ft. Incredible. The only thing that wasn't incredible was coming back to a car covered in an icky web full of rather aggressive spiders. Derek was a troooper though and swept them all off with his snow scraper thing. Oh, and he's a little afraid of spiders, so he was our hero for sure. So brave!

Oh, and we got stuck in traffic for a while, so I took the opportunity to take some shots of the beautiful scenery. Sigh. I LOVE fall.

WOW! I couldn't even really see the pumpkin actually launch, but I mean the smoke and everything...and really did it go 4000 feet?! That's impressive! The trees were BEAUTIFUL, isn't fall the best! Let's go snowboarding this winter for sure. And sorry to hear about your job...that you actually have to work now, ugh. Miss you!
