I guess since it's been exactly one month since I went to San Francisco for my birthday, it's probably high time I blogged about it! I have to be honest though...I don't want to be 27. This has always been my dreaded number. I have my reasons, and I'll be completely honest that I'm having a bit of a hard time accepting it lately. Don't worry, I'll get over my irrationalities. On to the fun stuff!! I've never been to San Francisco, so my friend Megan and I decided we better just go! We're single, carefree ladies, so we set off and saw the city. It was sooo much fun!! We flew out on my birthday, checked in at the hotel, walked around at the mall a bit, then met up with some friends for dinner. We went to this delicious Chinese restaurant and then drove over the Golden Gate bridge. Too bad it was so dark bc we hiked up this little hill and took pics of us and the bridge...or just us 'cause you can't see the bridge. Oops! We topped the night off with ice cream from the Ghirardelli factory, and then a drive around the entire city. Literally. We literally saw everything and more than we had planned on. Jeff was the ultimate tour guide and we were definitely 2 lucky ladies! We didn't get pics of everything, but the pics in our minds serve well enough for us.

Our lovely view from our downtown hotel. What do you mean that's why we got such a good deal on it?!

Golden Gate Bridge

Best view in the city....oops...I mean OF the city!

Saturday we walked down to the Pier and Fisherman's Wharf. We ate chowder at Boudin's Bakery...mmmm... saw hundreds of nudist cyclists on Beach street, rode a cable car and made friends with the brake man - he liked me ;) Then we met up with Jeff again and ate at this ridiculously good Italian restaurant, and he drove us like a maniac through the streets of San Fran so we wouldn't be late for our show. That's right...we went to Wicked! First time for Megan, so I was really excited. Oh. my. gosh. It was amazing!!! Galinda was the best ever!

Lombard street is up at the top there - we drove down it the night before, so we didn't feel the need to get an up-close picture. It's the curviest road in the world, in case you weren't aware.
Boudin Bakery - best sourdough chowder bowls! My mouth still waters.
Down at Fisherman's Wharf, where we enjoyed the soothing caribbean beats of our Rasta friends...until they told us to turn around and look at these lovely gems...
Yup, hundreds of nudey cyclists stopped at a red light. We got a few pictures and this is definitely the most G rated - don't even try to enlarge it ladies! It answered a lot of questions for me though. I now know exactly where a guys junk goes when he's riding a bike. Fun fact for the day. By the way, they only do this once a year. Clearly we were oblivious to this event, but just happend to be at the "right" place at the "right" time. Lucky us.
Cable car turn about - pretty cool
Meg and I in the best seats of the house on the cable car (standing at the very back, actually) where we made friends with this guy...
Let's call him Rodrigo. It just kind of rolls off the tongue, don't you think? Plus, I can't remember his name, but he sure did like us AND he filled us with all sorts of fun facts AND he took our pictures about a bajillion times on the cable car, by his own free will, mind you. I shall miss him.
At the super yummy Italian restaurant. Can you tell we're super excited to go see WICKED?!! Well, we are.
Ok, finally Sunday. We huffed it down to the Pier again, hopped on our ferry to Alcatraz, spent the day there, which was super de duper cool (even though Megan wasn't thrilled about it in the beginning), hurried back to the hotel bathroom where we freshened up (since we already checked out), then spent the next 6-7 hrs in the airport. Note to self: Don't fly United. Don't fly back to Vegas on a Sunday night. Bring a jacket/blanket bc airports are freezing!!
The Rock
We did the guided audio tour. Sooo cool! Megan loves germs, dark, closed-in, old spaces, stale air. Loves it. Can't you tell?! Come on, she's having a great time!
